Coaching

Gold Coast Clay Target Club has a number of Level 1 Club Coaches available to assist you advance the skills required to not only enjoy the sport of clay target shooting but also to become more competitive in your chosen discipline.  We are fortunate to have accredited coaches across all disciplines we have at our club.

Level 1 Club Coaches will assist you in one on one or small group coaching sessions matching your experience and needs.  They will help you get ready for competitions, teach you basic etiquette and general rules of your discipline as all shooters take their turn in competitions to referee or score other squads.

Want to Learn More about Refereeing? Our club has two very experienced shooters who are Referee Examiners.  They conduct courses for shooters to become accredited referees regularly at our club.  They are also available to answer all the tricky situations that happen from time to time in competitions.  No question is a silly one and they are always approachable and willing to help.  To contact them again see the Range Officer on duty when you attend the club.

Level 2 Competition Coaches have completed another course accredited by Shooting Australia that concentrates on developing individual or small groups of shooters to achieve at a high level.  Gold Coast Clay Target Club has three Level 2 coaches.  These coaches usually focus on shooters who are already achieving in competitions and who wish to fine tune their techniques, mental toughness and move up the grade and handicap ladder.

Another part of their responsibilities is to supervise, support, accredit and reaccredit Level 1 Coaches.  This small group is amongst the busiest of coaches at our club.
