'Southeast Zone Skeet Carnival' Posted by 'David'on 16/04/07
Many moons have passed since my work schedule has afforded me the luxury of attending a 2 day shoot and I would like to express my congratulations and appreciation to all those involved with the organisation and management of the April 2 day Skeet Carnival.
Our glorious Gold Coast weather and consistent targets made for a very enjoyable weekend of skeet shooting!
It is particularly pleasing to me to be able to shoot competitively, yet do so in such a friendly and sporting manner with those who apparently are there for the love of shooting and a good time and less concerned with the acquisition of trophies.
A disgruntled word was not uttered all weekend, again a credit to the organisers and the friendly manner in which the shoot was conducted! I would also like to echo the sentiments of previous feedback correspondence "Presidential Elections" as posted on this site 23/03/07 and offer my belated congratulations to the two gentlemen concerned. Well done all!
Sincerely, David Young.

I would like to express my congratulations to Shane as the newly elected President of our Club for 2007, and to offer him my support in any way possible.
I'm sure he will capably put his personal stamp on the position.
However I also wish to applaud Chris - I'm sure it was a closely run race as both candidates had plenty of supporters.
Not only was it encouraging to have two worthy opponents vie enthusiastically for the position of President, but to have them approach it in such a magnanimous fashion was really commendable.
I know that in the lead up to the AGM both wished the other well, were completely open at all times, and offered ongoing support to each other regardless of the outcome.
No position, particularly that of Head Honcho, is worth having if not fairly won and both Shane and Chris conducted themselves without sledging, secrecy, intimidation or negative campaign tactics of any kind.
In this type of situation there can be no 'second best' and we will now benefit from being able to draw on the ideas and expertise of both candidates. Our Club is better for having both these members on the Committee.

"Our company recently enjoyed our corporate day with the Gold Coast Clay
Target Club. We had a BBQ organised to kick off the afternoon (fantastic!)
followed by a safety briefing by club volunteers. We then organised into 3
teams and shot a total of 25 targets each; 5 targets to warm up, 10 targets
to determine an individual winner and 10 targets to combine into a team
total. Everything went smoothly and was enjoyed by all who attended the day.
We were very impressed with the amazing job the volunteers did to organise
the day for us. The volunteers did an exceptional job teaching everyone and
never changed from the beginning, keeping up the pace all the way through
the afternoon. On behalf of the Virotec team, thank you for a truly unique
and well organised afternoon."
